Dear fellow investors, friends, family and future self.
Welcome to my third portfolio update or the year 2022, I hope you enjoy them. I’ve decided to post updates at the end of the quarter, as things are not so interesting every single month. Now let’s get into things!
On the professional side, things are looking okish: my team got dissolved, I’ve moved to a new team where I will have to learn new technologies and frameworks. It’s good in a way that I am exposed to other stuff, but again I will need to go through a learning period. I hope that I will get my former position back, I have strong signals on this path.
Personally, nothing much happened, just that all the family was really sick before winter holidays, I think we got this RS virus that circulated through Germany and filled in the children hospitals. We didn’t end up to be admitted into the hospital, just one time we went to the emergency because one of the kids developed an infection and needed antibiotics. Anyhow, not the nicest holidays, actually ones that can be easily forgotten.
That’s it from the personal side, let’s see how my investments performed:
My investment account was at 14294€, 858€ more than previous update, broken down in 900€ cash invested and 42€ loss due to assets depreciation. This quarter not so bad as the previous one, but still not as good as expected. Things are not looking good on the investment side, everybody fears a recession. I use Trade Republic as a broker and if you create an account using this link, we will both receive a bonus of 25€ after your first trades.
I had experienced investing into P2P lending with Mintos, but at the moment I am withdrawing until further notice. At the moment I have 451€ in the account. I have almost all of the money (354€) in recovery.
Finally, some numbers about our total net worth: it increased by about 1400€ compared to last quarter (savings + investments). The increase can be attributed to savings and the credit reimbursement, but it’s quite low in terms of expectations, but I can put it in the expenses for a costly car repair and the holiday. I need to rebuild our savings first, before thinking of future investments. Also, probably next year I will be more conservative with investments and spending.
